Mark your calendars for the highly-anticipated second annual benefit concert, organized by the Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund (IMMSF) in partnership with Ardmore Music Hall. This special event aims to celebrate the enduring impact of Ian McGuire on the music community.
Tickets for the June 25th Album Release concert and a limited vinyl pressing of the mesmerizing album “Spring Garden,” by Ian McGuire and Scotty Zwang, will be available for purchase on May 12 at ArdmoreMusicHall.com. Recorded in 2021, “Spring Garden” showcases the improvisational music talents of Ian McGuire and Scotty Zwang, along with the collaboration of esteemed artists including the late Chuck Morris, Ben Karp, Paul Weinstein, Tim Knipper, Rick Lowenberg, Ajinkya Joglekar, and Aaron Dressler. Engineered by Ryan Edgar and produced by Jesse Miller of Lotus, this album is a heartfelt tribute to the late Ian Blair McGuire with artwork from Tommy Bradel and photos by Mike Ryan.
Proceeds from both the concert and album sales will be dedicated to furthering IMMSF’s mission of advancing music education and providing resources to connect youth, adults, and communities with access to music teachers and programs. In addition to the exclusive vinyl release, we are excited to announce our partnership with 29th Street Studios, enabling the digital availability of “Spring Garden” on major platforms such as iTunes, Pandora, and Spotify, starting from Friday, June 23.
The benefit concert will be hosted by a house band consisting of cherished friends and former bandmates, including Scotty Zwang, Tom McKee, Ben Karp, and Dave Palan. Throughout the night, special guests like Tom Hamilton, Danny Mayer, Paul Weinstein, Mike Labombard, Eli Winderman, Clay Parnell, and more (to be announced soon) will join the performance. The group will delight the audience with an eclectic mix of music from the McGuire Zwang Duo catalog, past Ian McGuire projects, and selections from their respective musical endeavors.
For those unable to attend in person, we have exciting news! The event will be live-streamed through multiple platforms. Stay tuned for further details on how to experience this unforgettable night of music.
